Summer Camp 2007 report
This year's Livingston rugby summer camp was attended by 41 kids ages ranges from 7 years through to 14 years old, an improvement on numbers from last year. The weather was great for three out of the five days but considering the summer we have had all players and coaches were happy.
Each day of the camp the coaches and myself worked on one skill a day, Monday was multi sports and passing, Tuesday was tackling, Wednesday was decision making and multi sports, Thursday was kicking and finally Friday was game preparation and games. Every day the coaches picked two players from each group as players of the day they were selected for their skill level, attitude, behaviour and manners they were awarded a cd rom of Scottish players showing them a rugby skill and at the end of the week the coaches picked one player of the week that stood out above the rest and that player received vouchers for rugby boots and a rugby top.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the kids who attended the camp and hope they really enjoyed their week. I am sure that their rugby skills benefitted from a week of total rugby. I also would like to thank the coaches for all their hard work over the week and the parents of the kids for transporting their kids back and forward each day to the club.
Finally, remember next year’s camp is on Monday 21st July to 25th July 2008. I hope it is as successful as this year's, and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there.
